Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2018-2022 (DAIP) (PDF 620KB)

The aim of the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office (HaDSCO) Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2018-2022 (DAIP) is to promote equitable and dignified access to all services, information, employment and facilities we provide, for all people, regardless of background or circumstance. The DAIP was finalised following a period of public consultation undertaken in December 2017.

The strategies within the DAIP are categorised into seven outcome areas as follows, to help ensure that barriers in each are minimised to encourage equal access and inclusion:

  • Services and events
  • Buildings and facilities
  • Information
  • Staff awareness and skills
  • Complaints
  • Public consultation
  • Employment.

By implementing these strategies we seek to eliminate any discrimination in relation to disability, ethnicity, age, gender, literacy level, socio-economic status and culture.

The DAIP is available on request in alternative formats such as large print, electronic format (emailed), audio or Braille. To request alternative formats please contact our Office.

We also invite interested people to forward their suggestions to help our five year plan evolve and improve on the achievements and obstacles identified.
